Happy Halloween! This week on The Gulf Coast Cowboy Hour, we take a look at two tropic topics: Pirates and Hurricanes!

We've got blue skies and sunny shores - in Texas at least!

Our playlist for this week is as follows:

  1. Pirates Confession / Captain Quint
  2. Gettin' Down in a Pirate Town / The Pirate Sessions
  3. A Pirate Looks at Forty / Jimmy Buffett
  4. There Once Was a Pirate / Duncan Sheik
  5. Talk Like a Pirate / Jake and the Never Land Pirate Band
  6. A Real Pirate / David Sharpe
  7. Caribbean Cowboy / Gene Mitchell
  8. Yo Ho, Yo Ho!  A Pirate's Life for Me! /Dominik Hauser
  9. A Pirate on the Caribbean / The Boat Drunks
  10. Loving a Hurricane / John Hiatt
  11. Hurricane / Dustin Lynch
  12. Let's Have a Hurricane Party / The Tapwater Conchs
  13. Hurricane Party in the Florida Keys / The Tapwater Conchs

We've got a new (to us, at least) group starting off the show this week: Captain Quint!  Here is their "Pirates Confession" off of their The Swinging Sailor of Perryman CD.

Next, we've a little something called "Gettin' Down in Pirate Town" from a band we've come to really enjoy: the Pirate Sessions.  This song is on their self-titled album, The Pirate Sessions, and features Florida Georgia Line, Jesse Rice and Chase Rice.

We can't have a pirate-themed show without one of the most iconic songs about pirates ever written!  Here's Jimmy Buffett's "A Pirate Looks at Forty".

Here's another artist that's new to our show: Duncan Sheik.  Enjoy his "There Once Was a Pirate" from his rock musical, Spring Awakening.

There aren't many better band names than the Never Land Pirate Band!  Jake and the Never Land Pirates is an award winning show featured on Disney Junior.

David Sharpe's "A Real Pirate" is a great song that can be found on his All the Things You Dream album from 2006.

Gene Mitchell has been our show a time or two.  Here is the title track to his fabulous Caribbean Cowboy CD!

"Yo Ho, Yo Ho!  A Pirate's Life for Me!" is the theme song to the famous Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland.  This version was released as a single by Dominik Hauser.

We love the Boat Drunks!  Especially this song, "A Pirate on the Caribbean".

With our friends in the northeast dealing with some adverse weather, we thought it fitting to add in a few hurricane songs to help them through this tough time.  Here's John Hiatt's "Loving a Hurricane" to get things rolling.

Dustin Lynch is a new artist who just released his debut this last August.  It's on that album that we found this great song, "Hurricane".

You know how much we like to close out strong on our show!  We've got two great songs from the Tapwater Conchs that should do the trick: "Let's Have a Hurricane Party" and "Hurricane Party in the Florida Keys".  Enjoy!

That's the show for the week.  Join us every Wednesday evening from 7 - 8 PM for the best in Trop Rock and Gulf Coast Music - only on KBEC 1390!
