Even if it may be snowing where you are, the temperature is perfect here for another Gulf Coast Cowboy Hour!

You know you love it.

This week, we will be featuring three concepts any Trop Rocker will be familiar with: Bays, Ports, and Boats!  Here's this week's playlist:

  1. Capano Bay / Randy Rogers Band
  2. There's Something About Key West / Al Mosier
  3. Matagorda / Larry Joe Taylor
  4. Port Aransas / Lange Debault
  5. Port Aransas Sand / Joshua Peek
  6. Matagorda Bay / Josh Abbott Band
  7. Corpus Christi Bay / Robert Earl Keen
  8. Port "A" Saturday Night / Jerry Diaz & Hanna's Reef
  9. Where the Boat Leaves From / Zac Brown Band
  10. The Same Boat / Eric Stone
  11. Boat in Belize / Kelly McGuire
  12. The Santa Boat / Brent Burns
  13. Boat Drinks / Jimmy Buffett
  14. If I Had a Boat / Lyle Lovett

One of the biggest names in modern country music comes straight out of a community just down the road from KBEC studios - Cleburne, TX!  They're known as the Randy Rogers Band and they've got three Top 10 Country albums with a new one on the way!  Here's a song from their first album, Like It Used to Be, called "Capano Bay".

Al Mosier's "There's Something About Key West" is a new song on our program that we found on his Coastal CD.

Larry Joe Taylor's Annual Coastin' and Cruisin' music cruise is coming up once again!  To celebrate a little early, here's his "Matagorda" from an album called Heart of the Matter.

We're hitting the south Texas coastline for this next song: Lange Debault's "Port Aransas"!

...and while we're there, let's make sure to check out Joshua Peek's "Port Aransas Sand".

We already heard from Larry Joe on the subject, but here's the Josh Abbott Band's take on "Matagorda Bay" for you!

While we're still on the subject of bays, let's hear from Robert Earl Keen about "Corpus Christi Bay".

One last "port" song before we start taking a look at boats!  We hope you enjoy one of our favorite tunes: Jerry Diaz and Hanna's Reef's "Port 'A' Saturday Night".

As promised, our third theme for the evening is the thing that separates the proper sailor from a mere land-lubber: the "boat".  We'll kick it off right with the Zac Brown Band's "Where the Boat Leaves From"!

It's hard to follow a song like that up, but we think that Eric Stone's "The Same Boat" might just fit the bill!

You can't have a music show about boats and not throw in one of the best boat songs of them all: Kelly McGuire's epic "Boat in Belize".

Since it is the holiday season, and we are already on the subject, we thought we'd throw in a great Brent Burns tune we came across: "The Santa Boat".

We can't leave Jimmy Buffett out of our boat love-fest!  "Boat Drinks" is such a perfect song for the occasion.

We'll be closing our show this week with one of the absolute best boat songs every written, "If I Had a Boat".  Lyle Lovett really knows how to write 'em!

That's it for now!  We'll be back next week with more hijinks and Gulf Coast Music.  Make sure to join us every Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock for the best in Trop Rock - only on KBEC 1390!
