The 2016 inductees will be honored at the annual Induction Ceremony and Scholarship Program on Thursday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the WHS Fine Arts Center to kick off Homecoming weekend. Admission to the event is free.
The 2016 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee into the Legends category who was part of the WHS Athletic program prior to 1966 is Marshall Dale Fincher. The Modern category consists of those who were a part of the WHS athletic program since 1966, and this year’s inductees are Jimmy Lofland and Jerry McLemore. The 2006 State Championship Girls Basketball team will be honored in this year’s Team category, along with Ken Roberts, who will be inducted into the Friend category.
Proceeds from last year’s event provided scholarship funds for recent WHS graduates Thomas Gish, Destin Lott, Abi Rodgers and Audrey Willett.
