Tyler’s Parkside Development Takes Shape With BJ’s and Credit Union Confirmed

Construction crews are busy on South Broadway in Tyler, where the Genecov Group is building out Parkside, a 92-acre development designed to mix shopping, restaurants, walking trails and green space with a social gathering area and live music. Two tenants are confirmed so far: BJ’s Wholesale Warehouse and United Heritage Credit Union. Those are the anchors, and the rest of the roster is still up for grabs.

That open question has set off a friendly local debate. Residents are tossing out ideas like Topshot golf and The Cheesecake Factory, with plenty of opinions about which one fits the site better. The one thing that comes up over and over in those threads is traffic. South Broadway already carries steady volume, and adding a warehouse club plus a full dining and retail district will put that road to the test.

Waxahachie knows this story well. As our own community grows and every new development brings the same mix of excitement and questions, watching how a similar city handles the traffic piece is worth our attention. Tyler’s answers may end up shaping how things get built here.

What would you want to see in a development like Parkside here at home? Tell us in the comments.
