Buc-ee’s Ties for Seventh in 2026 National Convenience Store Ranking

Buc-ee’s earned a score of 77 out of 100 in the 2026 American Customer Satisfaction Index, tying for seventh place nationally with Maverik, Pilot, RaceTrac, and Shell. That’s a two-point drop from last year’s 79, while Meijer claimed the top spot at 82 and QuikTrip, Sheetz, and Wawa tied for second at 80.

The Texas chain looked stronger in its home region. In the South, Buc-ee’s tied with QuikTrip and Sheetz for second at 81, just one point behind Wawa’s 82. The study surveyed 9,475 convenience store customers between October 2025 and September 2026, measuring cleanliness, employee interactions, food quality, checkout speed, and mobile apps. Industry-wide satisfaction slipped slightly this year.

For Ellis County drivers, the stretch of I-35E between Waxahachie and Hillsboro is basically Buc-ee’s country, and the chain’s reputation is built on the kind of road-trip details the survey weighs. A two-point dip probably won’t change many routines around here, but it does raise a fair question about whether the experience has kept pace as the chain has grown and North Texas traffic keeps climbing.
