Arch Manning vows to ‘let it rip’ as Texas hosts No. 7 Ole Miss

Arch Manning isn’t backing down, and Texas isn’t backing away from him. Sarkisian confirmed Manning will start Saturday when No. 19 Texas hosts No. 7 Ole Miss, the first meeting between the schools since the Longhorns joined the SEC. The stakes aren’t small: two straight losses to unranked teams, a 4-2 record, and playoff hopes that need a signature win. Manning’s message was simple and direct. He plans to die on the hill of letting it rip.

The family angle adds another layer, with the Manning legacy tied to Ole Miss and a quarterback trying to write his own chapter. The on-field reality is thorny. Texas hasn’t scored a third-quarter touchdown in five straight games, and pass rusher Colin Simmons is dealing with a high ankle sprain that could keep him out. Ole Miss arrives at 5-1 and 3-1 in SEC play behind quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, whose coach, Pete Golding, still called Manning an elite player.

So what should Ellis County fans expect? A gut-check game, plain and simple. A win and Texas is back in the conversation. A loss, and the questions get much louder. What’s your call on Saturday’s game for the Longhorns? Let us know in the comments.
