Lindale’s Santa’s Bake Shop Returns With $14 Homemade Cookies and Live Reindeer

A short drive east of Waxahachie, the Lillie Russell Memorial Library in Lindale is preparing for its 14th annual Santa’s Bake Shop, the library’s largest fundraiser of the year. The festivities start Friday, December 4th at 7 p.m. with a tree lighting, and the bake shop opens Saturday, December 5th at 10 a.m. at 200 East Hubbard Street. Homemade cookies are $14 per dozen, and last year roughly 900 dozen sold before the day was done.

The event is more than a cookie table. Visitors will find live reindeer, face painting, reindeer games, live entertainment, and silent auction items, with Santa available for photos from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 2 to 4 p.m. The shop stays open until 8 p.m. or until the cookies sell out, so an early arrival is the safer bet for the best selection.

Every dollar raised helps keep the library operating year-round, which means story time, summer reading programs, and computer access for families across the Lindale community. It’s an affordable holiday outing with a purpose, and it’s become a tradition East Texas families plan around. Will we see you in Lindale on December 5th, and which cookie is first on your list?
