Can you believe it's that time again? Time for another Featured Artist Friday!

We've got a bit of a mix for Featured Artist Friday fans this week.  First up, by request, is the Arkansas-native Joe Nichols #1 hit, "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off".  From his 2005 III album, this song was the second #1 hit for Nichols.  Also by request this week we have an old Keith Whitley song called "Miami My Amy" from his 1985 L.A. to to Miami album.  This song would be Whitley's first foray in the US Country Top 20, a place he would spend a lot of time before his untimely passing in 1989.  Our third song for this week did not come by request - we actually found it while listening to a bunch of independent Texas country artists!  Preston Coly is a native Texan who is starting to make a name for himself in our great state and beyond.  Here is "Who Wouldn't Want To Be a Cowboy" from his 2011 Hold Your Horses album.

Our selections for this week include:

  • "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" - Joe Nichols
  • "Miami My Amy" - Keith Whitley
  • "Who Wouldn't Want To Be a Cowboy" - Preston Coly
Every Friday, we will be adding a few new songs to the KBEC rotation.  You can hear our choices for the week on the Afternoon Drive.  If you have any comments or suggestions on who we should or shouldn't add, feel free to drop us an e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
